The Triforce was created by the three Golden Goddesses after they shaped Hyrule from chaos. Din, the goddess of power, left the Triforce of Power; Nayru, of wisdom, left the Triforce of Wisdom; and Farore, of courage, left the Triforce of Courage. Together, they form the complete Triforce, a relic that exists in the Sacred Realm, a parallel dimension accessible only through a portal. The artifact is said to be the source of all life and magic in Hyrule, and its power can only be unleashed by one who possesses an equal balance of the three virtues—power, wisdom, and courage.

In Their Own Story

In the quiet of the Temple of Time, a lone figure stands before the Pedestal of Time. The air hums with ancient energy as the hero, Link, draws the Master Sword, causing the stone doors to grind open. Beyond lies the Sacred Realm, bathed in golden light, where the Triforce rests on a pedestal. As Link reaches out, a shadow looms—Ganondorf, the Gerudo king, laughs from the shadows, his hand already glowing with the Triforce of Power. The hero's fingers brush the golden triangle, and the world shatters into a vision of light and shadow—a choice that will echo through ages, determining whether Hyrule knows peace or eternal twilight.

The Triforce is not a weapon to be swung but a wish-granting artifact of immense cosmic power. In-world, it responds only to a person with a balanced heart—one that equally embodies power, wisdom, and courage. If someone with an unbalanced heart touches it, the Triforce splits into three pieces, each fragment seeking out a person who embodies that virtue. The bearer of the Triforce of Power gains immense physical strength and magical command—but often at the cost of their humanity, as Ganondorf's lust for domination proves.
